Above is my absolute favorite cake. We used this cake as the inspiration for our wedding cake...but we took it in a much bolder, less bridal direction.
I really like the cakes that are made to look like wood. It's so simple but still cool looking. We're not going that way though (instead we're getting a chocolate cake) because we hate the taste of fondant.
Another cool cake that was actually done for a gingerbread competition was someone who made a typical wedding cake but when viewed from the back a section had lots of gingerbread structures and elves running around making it from the inside.

$25 a slice, these cakes are for Marie Antoinette. Of course they are gorgeous for that price.
