Susan + Dave, the wedding

Yesterday, I posted about the morning of Susan and Dave's wedding. Here is the rest of their lovely day. Besides a spot of rain in the morning, the day couldn't have been more perfect.
All photos by Peter Thurin.
The pillars at Union Station make for a gorgeous wedding photo.
I love that the couple's chose a unique Signature Drink, Martini's. The drink had a significant meaning to the couple as you can read below.

Some of the delicious Martini's that were offered to guests at the cocktail hour.
Not quite a martini... but an enjoyable kiddie cocktail for an adorable little girl.
Not that there was any doubt, but the couple had their seats decorated.

Isn't this photo make your heart swoon a bit? It was taken before the guests arrived.
They are such a sweet couple!

Susan wanted to keep the room decor understated with her choice of white linens and soft pastels for her flowers.
The centerpieces were all slightly different but romantic full roses were at every table.
A centerpiece at another table shows that although they were different, there was the same feel creating a cohesive look.

Right before the couple was about to be introduced!
There was another couple that was having their anniversary the same day. Dave and Susan ordered them a cake.
It was a lovely way to share the day!

Cafe Brauer is pretty during the day but it is gorgeous at night once the lights are dimmed.
Rather than serve dessert, the couple had a gorgeous cupcake buffet from Sweet Mandy B's.

Susan + Dave

Susan is nice. As in, I don't know if she even has a mean bone in her body. Full of graciousness, I knew that she would be an absolute delight on her wedding day. Although I didn't meet Dave until the rehearsal, he was just as nice. I thought that they were the perfect match! Although there was a bit of rain on their wedding day, Susan was full of smiles. It was one of those weddings where I just walked away loving my job.

Super cute card + note that Dave gave to Susan on the morning of her wedding.

Susan had many lovely family heirlooms in her wedding suite.

The wedding photo with the bouquets were gorgeous!

Susan is putting on her wedding jewelry before the 1st meet with Dave.

Peter took some amazing detail shots.
All brides should remember to bring a copy of their wedding invitation on their wedding day for the photos.

Rain on your wedding day is lucky.
As I wrote in the earlier post, Susan didn't even think to complain. She had a smile ear to ear the entire day.

The super cute ring bearer. He walked the entire aisle by himself.

OK, I realize that I am obsessed with this shot as I include it is almost every real wedding post. I can't help it; LOVE IT. And, I love that you can see Susan's shoes.

I'll be back tomorrow with a post about their gorgeous reception!

Wouldn't this be perfect for your honeymoon?

I am in love with this kimono style robe. I can imagine strolling about my suite in this gorgeous robe and then heading out to the balcony of my room to eat croissants while looking at the sea.

Soniya + Erick, Part 6: The Details

Part of Soniya’s wedding day jewelry.

The beautiful henna designs from the Mehndi ceremony.

Close up shot of the bride’s two different gowns. The beadwork is so intricate.

Orchids rained down around a chandelier inside the mandap.

This statue of Ganesh was the focal point for the escort card table.
Seating assignments were nestled in small golden elephants.

The bride made the menus adorned with a peacock feather - so pretty and unique.

The delicately decorated cake was topped with crystals.
The sweetheart table in the background had an intimate feel in the large ballroom.

Favors were paper mache boxes hand made in India.
Guests loved choosing their favorite among the different designs and shapes.

Soniya + Erick, Part 5

Sharing their first dance: “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head” by Dean Martin.

A custom-made gobo shines on the dance floor.

Cutting the cake which had chocolate and banana flavors.

I love the movement in this photo.

Erick took a moment to thank all their guests and gave the sweetest toast to his new bride.

The photographer had guests walk down a “runway”...

And as you can see, they loved it!

Did you notice the sleeping baby amid all the joyful dancing?!

My next post will be a final look at some of the fabulous details.

Soniya + Erick, Part 4

Both the bride and groom changed into different outfits for the reception.

Would you guess that this is the Magnificent Mile? Posing in front of the Tribune Building.

Finding a private moment before they rejoin their guests.

The tables varied in shape and were draped in merlot, silver and fire orange.

One of the centerpieces featured an ornately carved gilded box topped with deep plum carnations.

Photos honoring the couple’s relatives. I love juxtaposition of the formals with Soniya and Erick’s playful snapshots.

The next post will feature some highlights from the reception.
