Wedding Websites

Slate just wrote a snarky article on wedding websites. While they are easy to hate (baby pictures, over the top romance stories, pictures documenting the couple's entire relationship), they are practical. If you have a wedding website, it is a great place to list all of those important details like the ceremony and reception location, start time, parking, and hotel blocks. I don't know how many times I was asked the same question over and over again.

Do you think the cheese factor ruins the value of wedding websites?

That said, I don't value Slate's opinion on weddings too much. This is the same website that said it was ok to print registry information on the invitation.

Wow, that article and proceeding commentary is harsh. We kept our wedding website simple and understated. It got the important information out without being over the top or cheesy. I think that we had less than 10 pictures in it. We used mywedding.com which had great templates, none cheesy at all. I love wedding websites as a guest. It's a great way to present the couple and their nuptial information.
