Four Looks of Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

One of my May brides really wants her bridesmaids to wear mismatched dresses.  I love this style and would encourage any bride to do it.  There's just one small caveat:  it's going to take more time and effort to create that perfectly mismatched look.  Here are four ways to wear mismatched dresses

Style #1: Fifty Shades

The first look in when all of the bridesmaids were a shade of grey.  Or pink.  Or navy.  I love this look although it needs to be very well thought out in terms of sheen and shade.  I've seen it look simply mismatched (but not in a good way).  It's much better when the shades are cohesive.

Look #2: Same color but different style dresses

I once had a wedding where all of the bridesmaids wore their favorite black dress.  It was obvious how everyone was so happy and confident.  The benefit of this look is that the bride picks a color and then makers the girls find the perfect dress for them!

Look #3:  Same dress with different accessories

It's still a fun form of mismatching although one can argue that it's not mismatched because all of the girls are wearing the same dress.  This look sort of reminds me of the 80's rainbow bridesmaids.  Does anyone remember that?!

Look #4:  Totally Mismatched

The sky's the limit when it comes to this look.  The bride lets her bridesmaids wear whatever frock she prefers.  I'll be honest: I have too much of a matchy personality to let this be my favorite look.  The third photo is closest to being my favorite although it drives me crazy that one of the bridesmaid is in a solid while the rest are in prints.
