I love it when a bride decides that her wedding favors will be a donation to her favorite charity. The gift is heartwarming, and shows gratitude on behalf of the couple. If you are still on the fence about giving guests an actual gift versus a charitable donation, the following ideas prove that both are possible. 1. Truffles for a Cause
This organization supports many significant causes, including medical, animal and humanitarian charities. After donating, you will receive chocolate truffles as wedding favors in return. 2. Arbor Day Foundation
Sweet Beginnings is one of my favorites! This local green company naturally makes honey and creates skin care products that are infused with honey. The best part? They offer jobs to previously incarcerated individuals. Find out more about Sweet Beginnings and shop here. 4. Greyston Bakery
After customizing chocolate bars with 5 of your favorite ingredients, you can select 3 different charities to donate toward. Now you and your groom can finally agree on something. :) Create your dream chocolate bar here!
I think I need to add this to my stationary wardrobe. Oscar de la Renta has collaborated with Paperless Post (my favorite way to send online invitations). The entire collection is fantastic, especially when you look at the inspiration directly from the runways. LOVE!
I know that this is old news but I loved the Met Gala this year. My favorite look was the always flawless Sarah Jessica Parker. I created a board on Pinterest with some of our favorite looks (and a few misses) from the night!

While browsing around the internet, I found a BuzzFeed post highlighting the coolest venues to get married in America. Chicago's own Cafe Brauer is #3 on the list! Take a look at the post here to see the 22 venues. And the photographer that they used is one of my favorites too.

I cannot believe that today is our sixth anniversary. While I'd love to say that I'm drinking Veuve all day, I'm working like crazy! All of the details for Saturday's wedding that need to be finalized. We also have two new clients (hurrah!) which means I have a huge reading pile to familiarize myself with the contracts. Oh, and I have a new assistant starting today and another one starting on Friday.
I am not big on reflecting on my past. It's been a wild ride the past five years and I'm so excited to see what Year Six will bring to us. Besides shifting the focus on my blog (more on my life as a wedding planner), I am eager to continue planning more weddings!
The Spring 2013 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine highlights the fantastic color combination of cornflower blue and melon. I think it is such a fresh and bright color scheme for a spring or summer wedding. There are tons of ways to incorporate this theme into every detail of your wedding. The pictures above are from the story and we have even more inspiration below!
Can you tell this dress is made out of denim?? Me either; I love it.
If you aren't already excited about the upcoming wedding season, you will be once you hear of this special offer! Carolee jewelry and Bloomingdale's are offering brides an exclusive Carolee jewelry box. All you have to do is open a Bloomingdale's registry valued at least $6500 between May 1st and July 31st.
Additionally, if you purchase any Carolee's stunning jewelry, you will receive a card redeemable at the Carolee counter for "Yours" and "Mine" luggage tags. Those are so cute and would look perfect on your honeymoon luggage.
Visit Carolee to view the full collection. Here are three of our favorites below!
